OUR LOVE STORY

Our forever.

Jess and Landon grew up in neighboring cities and went to neighboring high schools. They had several mutual friends between the schools because of sports and cheerleading and knew of each other, but never met until 2015 while we were both attending UVU. Jess was immediately drawn to Landon's contagious and outgoing personality, and Landon was drawn to Jess's confidence!

We went out on our first date in September of 2015. We went to the BYU vs Boise State football game and made a bet: If BYU lost, I never had to go out with Landon again, but if they won, I had to promise we would have a second date. BYU was losing nearly the whole game and I was sweating bullets because I had never had a more perfect first date! Everything felt so natural between us and we both knew there was something special there. Luckily they pulled through with a "hail Mary" at the very end of the game and won! We were both so relieved and were so excited to see where things would take us next. From that point on we were inseperable!

We got engaged in January 2016. It was a complete surprise for Jess and everything went perfectly! After taking her up to see the Midway Ice Castles, I told her we were getting together with all of our friends at the Golf Clubhouse to watch a movie. Little did she know all of our family and friends were there waiting for our engagement. She was blindfolded on the walk up and was listening to a recording I had made of all of the experiences we had had dating that lead me to know she was the one I wanted to marry.

When I took off my blindfold, Landon was there on one knee. I was so happy and so speechless! It was one of the happiest nights and it was so special that we were able to share it with the ones we love! I listen to that recording often as a sweet reminder of Landon's love for me and just how blessed I feel to be married to him.

We were married on April 30, 2016 in the Draper, UT Temple. It could not have been a more perfect and beautiful day. We were surrounded by our wonderful family and friends, but most importantly we knew we finally had each other forever. The happiness we both felt that day is indescribable and will be forever etched in our hearts! Marriage isn't always easy, but it is how we have chosen to overcome our challenges together that has shaped our marriage into the beautiful thing it is today! We are deeply committed to one another and that is what we want our children to know and see daily.

Some of our most favorite memories throughout our marriage include:

1. Any time we get to surprise our kids or spoil them.

2. Any time we go to Disneyland or La Jolla!

3. Buying and building our first homes.

4. Graduating college.

5. Becoming parents for the first time and welcoming our sweet Taft!

6. Finding out we were miraculously expecting Georgia and welcoming her to the world.

7. All of the fun we had our first year of marriage! Races, traveling, boating, fun with friends, our first apartment, and being together as much as we possibly could!

8. Living in Anaheim, CA, Dallas, TX and San Antonio, TX for periods of time together as a family.

9. Visiting the closest university campus anywhere we travel and buying something from the bookstore!

10. Watching our favorite shows together to unwind at night!
